Alfred Charles Willis (3 February 1836 – 14 November 1920)[1] was an Anglicanmissionary[2] bishop[3] and author[4] in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.[5]
Willis was supportive of Liliʻuokalani, the last sovereign monarch of Hawaii, after her 1893 overthrow. Shortly after her release from house arrest in 1896, he baptised and confirmed the deposed queen.[13]
