Ahel (Persian: اهل)^[a] is a city in Eshkanan District of Lamerd County, Fars province, Iran.

History

There are documents showing that this town can trace its origins to Sasanid or the Neo-Persian Empire of ancient Iran. Sorez Castle, the Water Mill, Qanat and Aqueduct are famous.^{[citation needed]}

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 2,797 in 606 households.^[4] The following census in 2011 counted 2,940 people in 752 households.^[5] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 3,179 people in 839 households.^[2]
