The event was entered by 128 participants who were initially divided into 16 groups of 8 players, in which they competed against each other from June 6 to 7 in a double elimination tournament. Four players in each group qualified for the final round, which was played from June 8 to 10. The event was played under "winners break" format.[citation needed]
The early rounds were held behind closed doors, but fans were allowed for the final day.[1]
