ماري إلين مارك (بالإنجليزية: Mary Ellen Mark)‏ (20 مارس 1940 - 25 مايو 2015)، مصورة الولايات المتحدة عُرفت كمصورة صحفية/مصورة وثائقية، البورتريه، والتصوير الفوتوغرافي للدعاية.^[3]^[4]^[5] «إنها تصور الناس الذين يكونون بعيدا عن المجتمع العام وأكثر إثارة للاهتمام، وغالبا يكونون على هامش الأحوال المضطربة.»

إمتلكت ماري مارك 18 مجموعة مطبوعة لعملها، من أهمها ستريتوايز ووارد 81. وقد عرضت أعمالها في صالات العرض والمتاحف في جميع أنحاء العالم وعلى نطاق واسع نشر في مجلة لايف، رولينج ستون، مجلة نيويوركر، نيويورك تايمز، ومجلة فانيتي فير. كانت عضوا في ماغنوم فوتوز بين 1977 إلى 1981. حصلت على عدد من الجوائز مثل روبرت ف كينيدي وجوائز الصحافة وثلاثة من الصندوق الوطني للفنون. في 2014 حصلت على جائزة التصوير من جورج ايستمان هاوس والمساهمة المتميزة جائزة التصوير من منظمة التصوير العالمية.

الحياة والعمل

ولدت ماري وترعرعت في إلكنز بارك في ريف فيلادالفيا - بينسيلفانيا، وبدأت التصوير بكاميرا براوني في عمر التاسعة. ارتادت مدرسة تشيلتينهام العليا حيث كانت قائدة المشجعات ولها موهبة في الرسم والتصوير التشكيلي. حصلت على درجة البكالوريوس في الرسم وتاريخ الفن من جامعة ولاية بنسلفانيا في عام 1962.

بعد التخرج عملت لفترة وجيزة في قسم التخطيط قبل أن نعود للحصول على درجة الماجستير في التصوير الصحفي في كلية أننبرغ للاتصالات في جامعة بنسلفانيا التي حصلت عليها في 1964. بعد عام حصلت ماري مارك على حصل على منحة فولبرايت للتصوير في تركيا لمدة عام. حيث قدمت كتابها الأول باسبورت عام 1974. بالإضافة أنها سافرت لتلقط الصور ففي إنجلترا وألمانيا واليونان وإيطاليا وإسبانيا.

في عام 1966 أو 1967 انتقلت إلى نيويورك حيث على مدى السنوات القليلة التالية صورت المظاهرات في المعارضة لحرب فيتنام، وحركة تحرير المرأة. في مشروعها سريتس أوف لوست «طريق الضياع» مع الكاتب تشيري مك كال لمجلة لايف قدموا كتابها ستريتوايز (1988) بعدما تم تطويره وتحويله إلى فيلم وثائقي باسم ستريتوايز، من إخراج زوجها مارتن بيل ومع الموسيقى التصويرية التي كتبها توم وايتس. لوارد 81 (1979) عاشت لمدة ستة أسابيع مع المرضى في جناح أمن النساء في مستشفى ولاية أوريغون.

وفاتها

توفيت ماري إلين مارك في 25 مايو 2015 في مانهاتن وقد بلغت من العمر 75 عاما، من جراء متلازمة خلل التنسج النقوي وهو مرض في الدم ناجم عن فشل نخاع العظام.
