Mientres a Guerra d'o Francés, o capitán Anthony Trumbul, miembro d'a Royal Navy, recibe la orden de colaborar con un grupo de guerrillers espanyols, aliaus d'o Reino Uniu de Gran Bretanya y Irlanda en a suya luita contra l'Imperio francés, en recuperar un gran canyón de setio y levar-lo ent bel puerto de mar a on lo pueda recuperar a Royal Navy. Pero cuan lo troba, lo chefe d'os guerrillers li diz que antes de permitir que cumpla la suya misión, él l'ha d'aduyar, en transportando lo canyón a traviés d'una distancia de 1.000 km dica la ciudat d'Ávila ta conquistar-la de mans d'os franceses. Mientres o viache, bien dificultoso, lo capitán s'enamora de Juana, l'amant d'o chefe guerrilero Miguel y ista tamién li fa cara, provocando la zelera de Miguel.

A cinta s'ambienta en os anyos 1800 u 1810 mientres a Guerra d'o Francés en Espanya, basicament en l'actual comunidat autonoma de Castiella y Leyón y en a ciudat d'Ávila en ixa mesma comunidat, y las suyas escenas se filmoron en a Ciudad Encantada en Cuenca y en Toledo (Castiella-La Mancha), en o monesterio d'El Escorial en San Lorenzo de El Escorial y en Valdemoro (Comunidat de Madrit), en l'acueducto de Segovia en Segovia y en Ávila con a suya muralla (Castiella y Leyón) y en Santiago de Compostela (Galicia), amás d'en os Universal Studios en Universal City en California.[2]
