The Backrooms (die Agterkamers) is 'n fiktiewe konsep wat die eerste keer op 'n 2019 4chan plasing genoem is. Een van die bekendste voorbeelde van die liminale ruimte-estetika, die Backrooms word algemeen uitgebeeld as 'n ekstradimensionele ruimte wat onmoontlike groot uitgestrekte leë kamers bevat wat toeganklik is deur "geen uitknip van die werklikheid" (noclip mode - rekenaarspeletjie modus waar speler deur normale obstruksies soos mure kan beweeg) in sekere gebiede.

Internetgebruikers het uitgebrei op die konsep van die Backrooms, en het konsepte soos "vlakke" en vyandige wesens wat die Backrooms bewoon, bekendgestel. Vroeg in 2022 het die Amerikaanse Youtuber Kane Parsons 'n reeks Backrooms-kortfilms op YouTube begin, wat viraal geword het. Die video's is gekrediteer daarvoor dat hulle 'n oplewing in Backrooms-inhoud belangstelling aangemoedig het en dit uit die skadu na hoofstroom opgehef het. Daar word beplan om 'n filmverwerking van sy reeks wat deur A24 vervaardig sal word, deur hom te regisseer.
