Mariënbad (Duits: Marienbad; Tsjeggies: Mariánské Lázně, [ˈmarɪˌaːnskɛː ˈlaːzɲɛ]) is 'n stad en hersteloord in Wes-Boheme, Tsjeggië, met 'n bevolking van sowat 13 000. Administratief behoort dit tot die distrik Cheb (Okres Cheb) in die Karlovy Vary-streek (Karlovarský kraj). Saam met twee ander hersteloorde en badplase, Karlovy Vary (Karlsbad) en Františkovy Lázně (Franzensbad), vorm Mariënbad die hartland van die sogenaamde Wes-Boheemse Driehoek van Mineraal- en Warmbaddens. In sy bloeitydperk het die genesende krag van Mariënbad se mineraalbaddens bekende persoonlikhede soos konings, adellikes, kunstenaars en wetenskaplikes gelok.

In 2021 is Mariënbad deur Unesco as wêrelderfenisgebied onder die sambreelterm "Historiese spa's van Europa" gelys, saam met Františkovy Lázně en Karlovy Vary (albei Tsjeggië); Spa (België); Baden bei Wien (Oostenryk); Bad Ems, Baden-Baden en Bad Kissingen (Duitsland); Vichy (Frankryk); Montecatini Terme (Italië); en Bath (Verenigde Koninkryk).[2]

Geografie

Mariënbad is op 578 m bo seevlak in die dig beboste Keiserwoud-bergreeks (Duits: Kaiserwald, Tsjeggies: Slavkovský Les) geleë. Danksy sy ligging in 'n vallei van 'n klein rivier, die Úšovický potok, het dit 'n gematigde klimaat. Noord van die stad het die Mariënbaddam ontstaan wat die omgewing van drinkwater voorsien.
