LinkedIn (/lɪŋktˈɪn/) is 'n besigheids- en indiensnemingsgerigte sosialemediaplatform wat deur webwerwe en mobiele toepassings werk. Dit is op 5 Mei 2003 deur Reid Hoffman en Eric Ly bekendgestel.[1] Sedert Desember 2016 is LinkedIn 'n volfiliaal van Microsoft.[2] Die platform word hoofsaaklik gebruik vir professionele netwerke en loopbaanontwikkeling, en stel werksoekers in staat om hul CV's te plaas en werkgewers om poste te plaas. Vanaf 2015 het die meeste van die maatskappy se inkomste gekom uit die verkoop van toegang tot inligting oor sy lede aan werwers en verkoopspersoneel.[3] LinkedIn het meer as 1 miljard geregistreerde lede van meer as 200 lande en gebiede.[4]

LinkedIn laat lede (beide werkers en werkgewers) toe om profiele te skep en met mekaar in verbinding te tree in 'n aanlyn sosiale netwerk wat werklike professionele verhoudings kan verteenwoordig. Lede kan enigiemand (hetsy 'n bestaande lid of nie) nooi om 'n verbinding te word. LinkedIn kan ook gebruik word om vanlyn geleenthede te organiseer, by groepe aan te sluit, artikels te skryf, posplasings te publiseer, foto's en video's te plaas, en meer.[5]
