Amartya Kumar Sen (Bengaals: অমর্ত্য সেন, gebore 3 November 1933) is ’n Indiese ekonoom en filosoof van Bengaalse afkoms, wat van 1972 af in die Verenigde State en die Verenigde Koninkryk gewerk het. Hy het belangrike bydraes tot welvaartsekonomie, sosiale keuseteorie, ekonomiese en maatskaplike geregtigheid, ekonomiese teorieë van hongersnood en indekse van die mate van welsyn van die burgers van ontwikkelende lande gelewer. In 1998 word hy met die Nobelgedenkprys in Ekonomiese Wetenskappe[4] en in 1999 met die Bharat Ratna vereer vir sy werk in welvaartsekonomie.
