Die 2000-Drienasiesreeks was die vyfde keer wat die rugbytoernooi tussen Australië, Nieu-Seeland en Suid-Afrika plaasgevind het. Dit is vanaf 15 Julie tot 26 Augustus oor ses wedstryde beslis met elke span wat vier wedstryde gespeel het. Australië het die toernooi vir die eerste keer gewen nadat hulle drie wedstryde gewen het. Buitendien het Australië die Bledisloebeker vir die derde agtereenvolgende keer behou, nadat die All Blacks en die Wallabies elkeen een wedstryd gewen het.

Die toernooi is deur SANZAR georganiseer, ’n konsortium wat uit die drie lande se rugbyfederasies bestaan. Sedert 2012 is dit na die Rugbykampioenskapreeks verander toe ook Argentinië tot die toernooi toegetree het.[1]

Formaat

Die formaat vir die 2000-toernooi was soortgelyk aan dié van die vorige jare. Elke span het twee keer tuis gespeel, en twee keer weg, met ’n totaal van vier wedstryde elk, en ses in totaal. Met ’n wen het ’n span vier punte verdien, gelykop twee ligapunte, en ’n verloor met agt of meer punte nul ligapunte. ’n Bonuspunt kon verdien word op een van twee maniere: deur ten minste vier drieë in ’n wedstryd te druk, of deur met sewe punte of minder te verloor. Die toernooi se wenner was die span met die meeste ligapunte aan die einde van die toernooi.
