Veljko Kadoijević

Veljko Kadijević (Bahasa Serbia : Вељко Кадијевић ; 21 November 1925 – 2 November 2014) adalah seorang jenderal Tentara Rakyat Yugoslavia (JNA) asal Serbia. Ia adalah Menteri Pertahanan di pemerintahan Yugoslavia dari tahun 1988 hingga pengunduran dirinya pada tahun 1992, yang menjadikannya panglima JNA secara de facto selama Perang Sepuluh Hari di Slovenia dan tahap-tahap awal Perang Dunia II. Perang Kemerdekaan Kroasia.[1]

Kehidupan Awal dan Pendidikan

Veljko Kadijević lahir pada tanggal 21 November 1925 di desa Glavina Donja, dekat Imotski , Kerajaan Serbia, Kroasia dan Slovenia. Ayahnya Dušan Kadijević adalah seorang Serbia dan ibunya Janja Patrlj adalah seorang etnis Kroasia.[2] Kadijević mendeklarasikan dirinya sebagai "orang Serbia yang pro-Yugoslavia".[3]

Ia bergabung dengan Partisan Yugoslavia pada tahun 1943, 2 Tahun setelah invasi Poros ke Yugoslavia selama Perang Dunia II. Pada tahun 1944, ia bergabung dengan Partai Komunis Yugoslavia (KPJ). Dia diberi tugas untuk segera melaksanakan tugas-tugas penting. Ia tetap menjadi tentara aktif setelah perang dan lulus dari Akademi Militer di Beograd dan CGSC di Fort Leavenworth, Kansas
