Sandra Day O'Connor (26 Maret 1930 – 1 Desember 2023) adalah mantan Hakim Agung di Mahkamah Agung Amerika Serikat. Ia bertugas sebegai Hakim Agung semenjak tahun 1981. Ia diangkat oleh Presiden Ronald Reagan hingga pensiun pada 2006. Dia adalah wanita pertama yang menjabati posisi tersebut.^[5]

Sebelum masa jabatan O'Connor di Makamah Agung, ia adalah seorang hakim dan pejabat terpilih di Arizona, menjabat sebagai Pemimpin Mayoritas perempuan pertama dari senat sebagai pemimpin Partai Republik di Arizona. Ia adalah seorang Republikan Rockefeller.^[6] Setelah pencalonannya ke Pengadilan, O'Connor dikonfirmasi dengan suara bulat oleh Senat. Pada 1 Juli 2005, ia mengumumkan niatnya untuk pensiun secara efektif setelah konfirmasi dari seorang penerus. Samuel Alito dinominasikan untuk mengambil tempat duduknya pada Oktober 2005 dan bergabung dengan Pengadilan pada tanggal 31 Januari 2006.^[7]

Selama berada di Makamah Agung, beberapa publikasi menempatkannya di antara wanita paling berpengaruh di dunia.^[8]^[9] Pada 12 Agustus 2009, ia dianugerahi Medali Kebebasan Presiden oleh Presiden Barack Obama.^[10]^[11]^[12]
