Samantha Judith Ronson (lahir 7 Agustus 1977) adalah seorang DJ asal Inggris dan penyanyi-penulis lagu yang tinggal di Santa Monica, California.

Kehidupan awal

Ronson dilahirkan di Camden, London. Ibunya merupakan penulis dan sosialita Ann Deter-Jones dan ayahnya adalah seorang eksekutif musik dan seorang pengusaha real estate yang bernaa Laurence Ronson.[1]

Ketika ia berumur 6 tahun, orang tuanya bercerai. Ia kemudian tinggal bersama saudara-saudaranya, ibu, serta pacar baru ibunya, yaitu gitaris band Foreigner, Mick Jones, di New York. Ibunya kemudian menikah dengan Jones.[2][3]

Orang tuanya merupakan keturunan Yahudi Ashkenazi, dengan nenek moyang dari Austria, Rusia, dan Lithuania. Ronson dibesarkan dalam lingkungan Yahudi Konservatif..[4][5] Nama keluarga Ronson pada aslinya adalah Aaronson, namun kakeknya, Henry Ronson, mengubahnya menjadi Ronson.[6]

Ia merupakan keponakan dari taipan properti, Gerald Ronson. Ia masih memiliki hubungan darah dengan politisi konservatif Inggris, Sir Malcolm Rifkind dan Leon Brittan,[1] juga dengan Oscar Deutsch, yang adalah pendiri Cinema Odeon.[7] Kakak lakik-laki Ronson, Mark, adalah seorang produser musik dan musisi. Saudara kembarnya, Charlotte, adalah seorang perancang busana. Ronson memiliki lima saudara tiri yang lebih muda darinya, yaitu Kenneth (yang diadopsi dari lahir) dan Annabelle, dari pernikahan ibunya dengan Mick Jones. Selain itu juga ada Henrietta, David, dan Joshua (dari pernikahan ayaknya dengan model Michele First). Ronson memiiki dua saudara tiri laki-laki, Roman dan Chris Jones, dari pernikahan Mick Jones yang sebelumnya. Ayah tiri Ronson, Mick Jones, berkontribusi pada masa kecilnya yang penuh dengan musik.[8][9]
