SMA Averos atau juga disebut SMA Sains Averos, merupakan salah satu Sekolah Menengah Atas Swasta[1] yang terletak di Kota Sorong, Provinsi Papua Barat Daya, Indonesia.[2] Masa pendidikan sekolah di SMA AVEROS ditempuh dalam waktu tiga tahun pelajaran, mulai dari Kelas X sampai Kelas XII dengan peminatan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA). SMA Averos didirikan pada tahun 2004.

Pada awalnya sekolah ini merupakan tempat bimbingan belajar atau kursus. Tahun 2007 terbit Surat Keputusan[3] resmi berdiri sebagai sekolah dengan nama SMA Sains Averos dibawah Yayasan Pendidikan Sains Averos.[4]

Menurut Lembaga Tes Masuk Perguruan Tinggi, SMA Averos meraih peringkat tertinggi diantara seluruh sekolah di Pulau Papua berdasarkan Ujian Tulis Berbasis Komputer tahun 2022. Bahkan di tahun itu hanya ada dua sekolah dari Papua yang masuk peringkat 1000 teratas dengan SMA Averos meraih peringkat 570 dari semua sekolah di seluruh Indonesia.[5][6]
