Rokok di Indonesia adalah hal umum. Terdapat sekitar 57 juta perokok di Indonesia.[1] Di antara masyarakat Indonesia, 63% dari pria dan 5% dari wanita dikabarkan adalah perokok, total 34% dari populasi.[2] 88% perokok Indonesia menggunakan kretek rasa cengkih.[2] Pabrik-pabrik Kretek mempekerjakan langsung lebih dari 180.000 orang di Indonesia dan 10 juta orang tambahan secara tak langsung.[3] Indonesia adalah pasar tembakau terbesar kelima di dunia. Pada 2008, lebih dari 165 miliar rokok dijual di negara tersebut.[2]

Perusahaan-perusahaan tembakau besar yang mendominasi pasar di Indonesia yang diurutkan menurut tahun berdirinya:

[4] Dari keenam perusahaan rokok tersebut, hanya 4 dari 6 perusahaan rokok yang telah melantai di Bursa Efek Indonesia adalah PT HM Sampoerna Tbk, PT Bentoel International Investama Tbk (Namun, sudah delisting dari Bursa Efek Indonesia), PT Gudang Garam Tbk, dan PT Wismilak Inti Makmur Tbk.

WHO menyatakan bahwa Indonesia berada pada peringkat ketiga di dunia untuk total jumlah perokok.[5]
