Restorasi hutan

Restorasi hutan adalah proses untuk menghidupkan kembali ekosistem hutan yang telah mengalami kerusakan, degradasi, atau bahkan kehilangan. Proses ini mencakup penanaman pohon, pemulihan kualitas tanah, dan reintroduksi flora dan fauna asli ke wilayah tertentu. Untuk menjalankan langkah-langkah ini dengan sukses, dibutuhkan perencanaan yang teliti, pemantauan yang cermat, serta manajemen yang responsif agar hasil yang diingankan optimal. Restorasi hutan dipandang sebagai salah satu dari tiga elemen strategi paling baik yakni melindungi, memperluas, dan mempertahankan kelestarian hutan.[1]

Dasar Hukum

Departemen Kehutanan telah menerbitkan Peraturan Menteri Kehutanan SK. 159/Menhut-II/2004 yang kemudian mengalami perubahan dengan P.61/Menhut-II/2008. Peraturan ini bertujuan sebagai panduan dalam mengatur sistem pengelolaan hutan produksi melalui restorasi ekosistem. Proses restorasi hutan mencakup semua tahapan, seperti perencanaan, persetujuan, dan pelaporan aktivitas restorasi ekosistem, yang meliputi perencanaan kehutanan, identifikasi flora dan fauna, upaya perlindungan hutan, serta pemetaan area kerja.[2]

  • Menghambat perburuan liar
  • Menciptakan habitat yang baik bagi satwa
  • Menekan emisi karbon[3]
