Referendum konstitusional Venezuela 2007

Presiden Chávez memilih.

Referendum konstitusional diadakan di Venezuela pada tanggal 2 Desember 2007 untuk amendemen konstitusi mengamendemenkan 69 pasal konstitusi tahun 1999.[1] Menurut presiden Venezuela Hugo Chávez, reformasi dibutuhkan untuk mengimplementasikan agenda sosialis. Beberapa menyatakan ia bereformasi untuk menjadi diktator.[2] Antara perubahan yang diajukan adalah penghapusan pembatasan masa bakti presiden dan penambahan masa bakti presiden dari enam menjadi tujuh tahun. Selain itu, jam kerja juga akan dikurangi dua jam menjadi enam jam setiap hari.

Hasil pemilihan menunjukkan kekalahan Chávez, 51 persen suara menolak amendemen tersebut diterapkan. Kekalahan ini merupakan kekalahan pertama Chávez dalam sebuah pemilihan sepanjang sembilan tahun pemerintahannya.
