Michel Joseph Martelly (lahir 12 Februari 1961) atau lebih dikenal dengan nama panggung "Sweet Micky" adalah politikus asal Haiti, mantan musisi dan pengusaha serta Presiden Haiti saat ini.[1] Sebelum masuk ke dunia politik, Martelly adalah seorang artis dan artis rekaman, komposer dan pengusaha.[2]
Martelly lahir di Cote de Fer, merupakan putra dari Gerard Martelly, seorang eksekutif Shell Oil dan Marie Madeleine Martelly.[3][4] Kakek dari pihak ibunya, Auguste de Pradines merupakan seorang penyanyi (troubadour), yang menulis lagu-lagu protes terhadap pendudukan Haiti oleh Amerika Serikat pada tahun 1915–1934. Setelah lulus dari sekolah menengah di Institusi Saint Louis de Gonzague, Martelly mendaftar di Akademi Militer Haiti. Pada tahun 1984, ia pindah ke Amerika Serikat, dan bekerja di bidang konstruksi.[5] Pada tahun 1986, setelah satu semester, ia kembali ke Haiti. Ketika di Haiti pada tahun 1988, Martelly mengalami terobosan pertamanya di industri musik saat ia mulai bermain keyboard sebagai musisi pengisi di tempat-tempat lokal di Pétion-Ville dan Kenscoff, kelas pinggiran atas Port-au-Prince. Setelah kudeta Haiti 1991 melihat pengusiran Jean-Bertrand Aristide , "Martelly membuka klub Pétion-Ville yang disebut Garage, di mana ia menghibur banyak arsitek utama kudeta, termasuk kepala negara yang rumornya ia sangat ditakuti.[5]
