Konidium

Konidium (jamak konidia), kadang-kadang disebut sebagai Klamidospora aseksual atau klamidokonidium (jamak klamidokonidia),^[1] adalah spora fungi non motil dan aseksual.^[2] Nama konidium berasal dari kata Yunani untuk debu, κόνις kónis.^[3] Konidia juga disebut mitospora karena cara mereka dihasilkan melalui proses seluler mitosis. Dua sel haploid baru secara genetis identik dengan induk yang haploid, dan dapat berkembang menjadi organisme baru jika kondisinya menguntungkan, dan berfungsi dalam penyebaran (secara biologis).

Reproduksi aseksual pada filum Ascomycota adalah dengan pembentukan konidia, yang ditanggung pada tangkai khusus yang disebut konidiofor. Morfologi dari konidiofor khusus ini sering kali khas dari spesies tertentu dan karenanya dapat digunakan untuk identifikasi spesies.

Istilah mikrokonidia dan makrokonidia terkadang digunakan.^[4]
