Kinta merupakan salah satu distrik di negara bagian Perak dan merupakan kawasan yang paling padat di Perak. Mayoritas penduduk Kinta menetap di bagian utara, yaitu kawasan sekitar ibu negeri Perak, Ipoh.

Keterkenalan daerah ini dimulai dengan penemuan bijih timah pada awal abad 19. Ini menarik banyak orang Tiong Hoa untuk berhijrah ke Tanah Melayu terutama sekali di Larut dan kemudiannya Lembah Kinta. Penglibatan dalam industri bijih telah menjadi batu loncatan Perak untuk menjadi tumpuan banyak orang sehingga menjadi negeri paling banyak penduduknya pada awal abad ke-20. Namun, disebabkan pembangunan pesat di negeri tetangga seperti Selangor dan Pulau Pinang, banyak rakyat Perak berhijrah.
