Keselamatan laboratorium

Simbol biohazard digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi zat, material, dan wadah yang berbahaya bagi kesehatan manusia. Simbol ini memberikan peringatan tentang bahaya potensial yang ditimbulkan oleh agen biologis.

Keselamatan Laboratorium merupakan keadaan terbaik dalam bekerja ditempat yang dilengkapi peralatan untuk mengadakan percobaan atau penyelidikan. Keselamatan kerja di laboratorium perlu diutamakan untuk mencegah kecelakaan kerja.[1] Keselamatan kerja merupakan tanggung jawab setiap orang baik laporan maupun praktikan.[2]

Keselamatan Kerja di Laboratorium

  1. Netralisir tubuh dengan meminum susu
  2. Menggunakan perlengkapan laboratorium seperti baju lab, masker dan sarung tangan.
  3. Merapikan rambut agar tidak mengganggu kerja
  4. Berhati-hati saat menggunakan alat kaca
  5. Mengambil bahan kimia menggunakan alat bantu seperti pipet, sendok atau pinset.
  6. Mempersiapkan P3K
  7. Segera membasuh dengan air megalir ketika terkena zat kimia
  8. Tidak mencium aroma zat secara langsung
  9. Menjauhkan wajah ketika memanaskan zat kimia
  10. Mencuci tangan setelah selesai bekerja.[3]

Beberapa kebijakan pelaksanaan eksperimen yang dapat diterapkan yaitu: mencegah adanya limbah (dapat melalui pengolahan sebelum dibuang), merancang produk aman dengan bahan kimia, mengurangi kadar toxic pada produk yang dibuat, menggunakan bahan yang dapat diperbaharui dan tidak menggunakan reagen stoikiometrik.[2]
