Kepulauan Canton dan Enderbury adalah sejumlah atol karang yang terletak di bagian timur laut Kepulauan Phoenix. Kepulauan ini terletak sejauh 3.000 km di sebelah selatan Hawaii di tengah Samudra Pasifik. Kepulauan ini merupakan pangkalan udara dan laut yang penting dan pernah diklaim oleh Britania Raya dan Amerika Serikat.[1] Kepulauan ini berstatus kondominium yang diperintah bersama-sama oleh Britania Raya dan Amerika Serikat dari tahun 1939 hingga 1979.

Amerika Serikat dan Britania Raya menyerahkan kepulauan ini kepada Kiribati yang baru saja merdeka berdasarkan ketentuan Perjanjian Tarawa pada tahun 1979, sehingga Kondominium Kepulauan Canton dan Enderbury pun dibubarkan.[2]

Pada tahun 2005, Pulau Canton dihuni oleh 41 orang.[3] Pada Mei 2010, jumlah penduduknya dilaporkan telah berkurang menjadi 24, dengan 14 di antaranya adalah orang dewasa dan 10 anak-anak.[4] Satu-satunya pulau di desa ini disebut Tebaronga. Sementara itu, pulau Enderbury sama sekali tidak dihuni.

Pada tahun 2006, pemerintah Kiribati menyatakan Kepulauan Phoenix (dan juga Pulau Canton dan Enderbury) sebagai wilayah laut yang dilindungi untuk melestarikan flora dan fauna di kawasan tersebut.[5]
