Karno Barkah

Karno Barkah adalah seorang ahli aeronautika Indonesia. Karno Barkah pernah memimpin proyek Bandara Udara Internasional Soekarno-Hatta, Jakarta. Ia mengenyam pendidikan di HBS Semarang pada tahun 1940. Ia melanjutkan kuliah di Technische Hoogeschool te Bandoeng. Ia sempat tidak melanjutkan kuliahnya. ia kemudia berkuliah lagi di Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi pada tahun 1946. Kemudian ia menlanjutkan studinya di College Of Engineering and Technology, India, dan Northrop Aeronautical Institute, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Karier

Ia sempat bekerja sebagai masinis kereta Yogya-Kroya pada tahun 1942 ketika ia tidak melanjutkan kuliahnya di THS Bandung.

Setelah menyelesaikan studinya luar negeri, ia ditawari pekerjaan oleh Departemen Perhubungan. Ketika Marsekal Iskandar menjadi Menteri Perhubungan, Karno pernah diminta menjadi ahli teknik penerbangan di Boston membahas pengaruh jet stream pesawat terbang.[1] Sejak 1968, Karno Barkah mewakili Indonesia dalam International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) di Kanada, dan sempat tinggal di sana.

Kehidupan

Ketika memiliki waktu senggang di rumah, Karno memilih untuk bermain biola dan suling. Ia memainkan komposisi lagu dari Bach dan Vivaldi. Istrinya, Saraswati lebih banyak menulis di surat kabar mengenai masalah sehari-hari, seksologi, dan lain-lain. Mereka bertemu pertama kalinya di Irian Barat pada tahun 1963. Pasangan tersebut dikaruniai oleh tiga anak.
