Igor Aleksandrovich Moiseyev


Igor Moiseyev

Igor Aleksandrovich Moiseyev (lahir di Kiev, 21 Januari 1906 - meninggal di Moskow, 2 November 2007) adalah seorang penari dan koreografer asal Rusia.[1][2] Ia merupakan anak tunggal dari seorang pengacara Rusia dan seorang perempuan penjahit keturunan Roma-Prancis.[2] Sejak kecil, ia tinggal di Paris sampai ia berumur 8 tahun, membuat dirinya fasih berbahasa Prancis.[2] Kemudian ia pindah ke Moskow dan di sana ia mulai belajar balet bersama Vera Moslova.[1] Ketika ia berumur 14 tahun, dia diteruma di Bolshoi Ballet School dan lulus dari sekolah itu empat tahun kemudian pada tahun 1924.[2]

Sepanjang tahun 1920an sampai awal 1930an, Moiseyev menjadi bagian orang-orang yang membentuk model dansa terbaru sebelum usahanya ini dihentikan oleh pemerintahan Joseph Stalin yang menekankan Sosialisme-Realisme.[2] Setelah itu, Moiseyev mulai membuat koreografinya sendiri dan ia membuat beberapa gerakan balet untuk anak-anak di Bolshoi.[2] Dalam kariernya sebagai penari dan koreografer, Moiseyev menjadi penari klasik dan tokoh utama, dan menciptakan tarian-tarian balet untuk teater itu.[1] Karya pertama sebagai seorang penari dan koreografer adalah Salammbo pada tahun 1932, memimpin Departemen Korekografi Teater Seni Rakyat, Moskow pada tahun 1936, Ansambel Tari Rakyat Negara pada tahun 1937 yang juga dinamakan rombongan penari Moiseyev.[1] Pada tahun 1958, ia kembali ke Bolshoi dan menciptakan balet spektakular Spartacus dengan musik Aram Khachaturian.[1]
