Eta Geminorum

Eta Geminorum (η Gem / η Geminorum) adalah bintang yang memiliki sistem tiga bintang di rasi Gemini. Eta Geminorum A bersifat spektroskopik. Komponen utamanya memiliki kecemerlangan yang berubah dalam setiap 234 hari antara magnitudo +3.15 dan +3.9. Bintang ini berada pada jarak 350 tahun cahaya dari Matahari dam merupakan bintang raksasa merah (red giant) dengan kelas M3. komponen sekundernya, termasuk bintang kelas B, memiliki periode orbit 8.2 tahun.

Eta Geminorum B, merupakan bintang katai kelas G (G dwarf), mengorbit pasangannya selama 700 tahun.^[1]^,^[2]

Etimologi

Nama tradisional bintang ini adalah Tejat Prior (berasal dari bahasa Arab untuk "kaki depan"), Propus atau Praepes. Nama lainnya untuk bintang ini adalah:
