Petexbatún adalah sebuah danau kecil yang terbentuk oleh sungai dengan nama yang sama, yang merupakan anak Sungai La Pasion. Danau ini terletak di dekat Sayaxché di Departemen Petén, Guatemala.[1][2]
Arkeolog mencetuskan nama Negara Petexbatún untuk menyebut sejumlah kota dari zaman Klasik peradaban Maya yang meliputi Seibal, Itzan, Dos Pilas, Aguateca, Tamarindito, Punta de Chimino, Nacimiento, dan lain-lain. Kota-kota tersebut ditinggalkan oleh penduduknya pada zaman Klasik Akhir selama peristiwa keruntuhan Maya Klasik.
