Berikut ini adalah daftar kecamatan dan gampong di kabupaten Aceh Selatan.Kabupaten Aceh Selatan memiliki 18 kecamatan dan 260 gampong dengan kode pos 23761-23711-23774(dari total 243 kecamatan dan 5827 gampong di seluruh Aceh). Per tahun 2010 jumlah penduduk di wilayah ini adalah 202.003 (dari penduduk seluruh provinsi Aceh yang berjumlah 4.486.570) yang terdiri atas 99.616 pria dan 102.387 wanita (rasio 97,29). Dengan luas daerah 417.659 ha (dibanding luas seluruh provinsi Aceh 5.677.081 ha), tingkat kepadatan penduduk di wilayah ini adalah 53 jiwa/km² (dibanding kepadatan provinsi 78 jiwa/kmkm²). Pada tahun 2017, jumlah penduduknya sebesar 230.254 jiwa dengan luas wilayahnya 3.841,60 km² dan sebaran penduduk 60 jiwa/km².[1][2]

Kabupaten Aceh Selatan terbentang mulai dari Kecamatan Labuhan Haji yang berbatasan dengan Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya hingga Kecamatan Trumon Timur yang berbatasan dengan Kota Subulussalam. Pada tahun 2010, jumlah kecamatan dalam Kabupaten Aceh Selatan adalah 16 Kecamatan. Pada tahun 2011, 2 kecamatan di bagian timur yakni Trumon dimekarkan lagi menjadi 2 kecamatan lagi sehingga keseluruhan kecamatan dalam kabupaten sekarang ini berjumlah 18 kecamatan.

Berdasarkan Buku Induk Kode dan Data Wilayah Administrasi Pemerintahan Per Provinsi, Kabupaten/Kota, dan Kecamatan Seluruh Indonesia yang diterbitkan oleh Kementerian Dalam Negeri (Kemendagri), Kabupaten Aceh Selatan yang memiliki 18 kecamatan terbagi lagi menjadi 260 desa. Kecamatan Samadua merupakan kecamatan dengan desa terbanyak (28 desa), sedangkan kecamatan dengan desa paling sedikit adalah Kecamatan Bakongan (7 desa).
