"Break the Rules" adalah lagu oleh penyanyi asal Inggris, Charli XCX dari album studio keduanya, Sucker (2014). Lagu ini dirilis pada 19 Agustus 2014 sebagai single kedua album. Dalam wawancara tahun 2020 dengan Red Bull, XCX menyatakan bahwa dia menyesal merekam lagu ini.[1]

Musik video

Musik video untuk "Break the Rules" disutradarai oleh Marc Klasfeld dan ditayangkan perdana pada 25 Agustus 2014.[2][3] Video tersebut direkam di SMA Birmingham saat kelas sedang berlangsung, sehingga liriknya "getting high and getting wrecked" harus dibisukan selama pemutaran.[4] Menurut Charli, video tersebut mengambil inspirasi dari film-film seperti Carrie (1976), The Craft (1996) dan Jawbreaker (1999).[3][5] Video tersebut menampilkan cameo dari aktris Rose McGowan, bintang Jawbreaker, sebagai pendamping sekolah.[3]
