Austin M. Des Lauriers

Austin M. Des Lauriers adalah seorang profesor dalam bidang psikologi persekolahan, autisme, dan skizofrenia yang berhasil memperoleh gelar Ph.D. nya pada tahun 1942 di Universitas Montreal, Kanada. Ia mulai mengabdikan dirinya sebagai seorang profesor dan direktur penelitian dan pelatiahan di Universitas Missouri di Kansas pada tahun 1967-1970. Pada tahun 1979 menjadi profesor dan direktur di Child Study Center (Pusat Pengkajian Anak) di Ottawa. Hasil penelitiannya banyak membahas tentang topik-topik skizofrenia dan autisme pada anak. Salah satu hasil karyanya yang di anggap paling klasik ialah yang berjudul Your Child is Asleep (1969). Dia juga berpendapat bahwa penyebab konflik yang terjadi pada anak ialah kondisi dan perilaku autistik yang terjadi pada anak.^[1]
