Amrapali adalah sebuah film Hindi sejarah 1966, yang disutradarai oleh Lekh Tandon, dibintangi oleh Vyjayanthimala dan Sunil Dutt sebagai peran utama.

Film tersebut berdasarkan pada kehidupan Amrapali (Ambapali), seorang nagarvadhu (kepala abdi kerajaan) dari Vaishali di Bihar pada masa sekarang, sebuah ibu kota dari republik Licchavi di India kuno pada sekitar 500 SM dan Ajatashatru, raja dinasti Haryanka dari kekaisaran Magadha, yang jatuh cinta dengannya. Ceritanya ditemukan disebut dalam teks-teks Pali kuno dn tradisi-tradisi Buddha.[2][3]

Film tersebut terpilih sebagai entri India pada Film Berbahasa Asing Terbaik di Academy Awards ke-39, tetapi tidak masuk nominasi.[4] Meskipun film tersebut tidak sukses secara komersial, pada waktu itu film tersebut dipandang sebagai film klasik dan diingat karena sinematografi dramatisnya dari adegan perang buatam Dwarka Divecha,[5] dan kostum-kostum buatan Bhanu Athaiya yang berkunjung ke Ajanta Caves, untuk melihat rujukan dalam fresko-fresko Buddha pada zaman tersebut, untuk membiat kostum-kostum pada zaman tersebut yang kemudian tak hanya menjadi pola acu untuk kostum-kostum pada zaman tersebut, tetapi juga sentimen anti-perang yang kuat, pada akhir film tersebut.[6][7][8]
