Abdul Wahhab bin Abdurrahman bin Rustam atau Abdul Wahhab bin Rustam atau hanya Wahhab bin Rustam adalah imam kedua Imamah Tahert dan pendiri gerakan Wahbiyyah Ibadisme. Dia adalah bagian dari Dinasti Rustam yang memerintah teokrasi di tempat yang sekarang disebut Tunisia dan Aljazair. Ia menjadi penguasa setelah kematian ayahnya, Abdurrahman bin Rustam dan mendirikan gerakan keagamaan Islam eksternal yang disebut Wahbiyyah relatif terhadap namanya Abd al-Wahhab. Khotbah Ibadi Khawarijnya sering diasosiasikan dengan gerakan Wahhabiyah modern.[2][3][4]

Kehidupan

Abd al-Wahhab lahir pada tahun 747/748.[5] Ayahnya adalah Abdurrahman bin Rustam pendiri Dinasti Rustamid dan ibunya adalah seorang Berber dari suku Bani Ifran . Dia mempelajari ide-ide Abu Ubayda Muslim ibn Abi Karima di bawah ayahnya, yang juga merupakan penyampai tradisi Ibadi.[6] Ia menerima negara setelah kematian ayahnya pada tahun 788.[7] Pada tahun 789, ia membiarkan Idris I merebut Tlemcen tanpa reaksi negatif.[8] Dia meninggal, mungkin, pada tahun 823/824.[9]
