大衛·摩斯出生於麻薩諸塞州貝弗利。母親杰奎琳（Jacquelyn）是學校老師，而父親查爾斯·摩斯（Charles Morse）則是一名銷售經理[3]。他的中間名「鮑迪奇（Bowditch）」來自於數學家納撒尼爾·鮑迪奇（英语：Nathaniel Bowditch）[1]。摩斯有著三個弟妹[4]。

摩斯曾表示，在他演過的電影中，最喜歡的是《兄弟情仇（英语：The Indian Runner）》、《72小時魔鬼追殺令（英语：The Crossing Guard）》和《綠色奇蹟》[5]。他在2013年電影《末日之戰》中飾演一名前CIA探員。而他還在由威爾·史密斯主演的《震盪效應》中飾演已故的NFL球員馬克·韋伯斯特（英语：Mike Webster），電影於2015年上映[6] 。

個人生活

他的妻子為女演員蘇珊·惠勒·達夫（Susan Wheeler Duff），自1982年以來，兩人有著一個名為愛麗莎（Eliza）的女兒和一對分別名為班傑明（Benjamin）與山繆（Samuel）的雙胞胎兒子[4]。在1994年北岭地震過後，摩斯一家人搬到了賓夕法尼亞州的費城，至今他們仍住在那裡[7]。
