M101星系群是在大熊座內的一個結構鬆散的星系群，這個星系群是以其中最亮的星系M101命名的，群中其他的星系大多是風車星系的伴星系[4][3][1][2]。這個星系群本身也是室女座超星系團（也就是本超星系團）眾多成員之一[5]。

成員

下表是在鄰近的星系目錄中一向被確認的小組成員[4]，是由Fouque等人量測的[3]，獅子座星系團（LGG）目錄[1]，和這三個星系群表是Giuricin等人建立的鄰近光學星系樣品[2]。

其它可能的成員（只從上述參考的目錄中列出一兩個名單）包括不規則星系 NGC 5238和UGC 8508。

鄰近的集團

M51星系群，包含車輪星系（M51）和向日葵星系（M63）[4][3][1][2]，位在M101星系群的西南方，NGC 5866星系群在西北方[7]。這三個星系團的距離（對集團中的星系進行獨立的測量）是相似的，建議M51星系團、M101星系團、和NGC 5866星系確實團都是更大星系團鬆散和延伸結構的一部份[7]但是，多數認定星系團的方法（包括前述所參考和援引的資料）都認為這三個星系團是完全分開的集團。
