1997年万宝路中国足球甲A联赛是中國足協舉行的第9屆中国足球甲级A组联赛，聯賽於1997年3月16日展開，12月21日結束，大连万达蝉联冠军。

  • 延边队聘请了韩国教授崔殷泽（朝鲜语：최은택）执教并获得历史最好成绩，此后很多韩国教练进入中国足球圈[1]。
  • 赛季开始前升班马前卫寰岛高价引进大量大牌球员，包括高峰、姜峰、韩金铭、姜滨，并聘请前中国国家队主教练克劳斯·施拉普纳担任主教练。次年引进彭伟国和符宾，开始了足球俱乐部的投资竞争。
  • 7月20日，北京国安队新引进的三名外援首次同时登场，以9:1大胜上海申花。首次亮相的卡西亚诺和安德雷斯分别上演帽子戏法，冈波斯攻入两球。
  • 12月21日，上海申花在最后一轮联赛中主场4:2胜大连万达。大连万达的不败纪录在55场终结。
