莱索托王国为单一制国家，全国划为10个行政区，其中九个区都以其首府名称命名（除了伯里亚区）。而10个行政区又再进一步划分为80个选区，再细分为129个社区^[1]^[2]。目前地方政府机构尚未完全建立，因此主要由部落酋长管理地方行政事务，现全国共有1084名酋长^[3]。
