著名藥理學家、諾貝爾生理學或醫學獎得主霍華德·弗洛里，弗洛里男爵，生前居住在茶樹涌市。[5]

歷史

1858年10月，茶樹涌區議會（英語：District Council of Tea Tree Gully），脫離自1853年成立的禧錦區議會（英语：District Council of Highercombe）。後來在1930年代初，地方政府事務處（Local Government Commission）認為茶樹涌及禧錦兩個區議會的規模及人口過少，與其他51個議會被列入「年收入少於2000鎊的名單」之中。根據事務處建議，兩個區議會在1935年5月合併成新茶樹涌區議會。[8]

兩個區議會合併後，繼續沿用1855年位於茶樹涌的禧錦議事堂直接1967年。而前茶樹涌議事堂（英语：Old Tea Tree Gully Council Chambers）因為是南澳州第一個為議會而建的建築，至今仍然尚存，被列入南澳州遺產名錄（英语：South Australian Heritage Register）。[9][10]1967年，區議會議事堂遷至新建的茶樹涌市政中心。翌年，茶樹涌區獲升格為茶樹涌市。[11]

1954至1971年間，茶樹涌區人口由2,500人升至37,000。1975年，伴隨東北新市鎮逐步開發，人口升至55,000人。[12][13]2004年，茶樹涌市人口已超過100,000人。[11]

茶樹涌市有一個佔地350-公頃（860-英畝）的晏士地康樂公園（英语：Anstey Hill Recreation Park），毗鄰維士他（英语：Vista, South Australia）、茶樹涌（英语：Tea Tree Gully, South Australia）。
