1965年，曼迪勒出生在澳大利亚墨尔本，母亲路易丝，父亲是出租车司机，其祖先是希腊人。[1]曼迪勒跟着母亲姓，因为他嫌父亲姓氏在希腊语中太长。[2]曼迪勒在墨尔本的圣基尔达和墨尔本南部长大。[3]1987年，曼迪勒移居到美国，最初他在学校学习表演，因为他找不到任何工作。[2]

个人生活

曼迪勒曾在欧洲踢职业足球导致腿上胫骨疼痛，1991年，他被《人物》杂志选为全球最美50男人。[4]

1997年5月，曼迪勒和女演员塔丽萨·索托结婚，2000年两人离婚。
