早期生活

納塔利出生於密歇根州的底特律，母親為托兒所的老師兼畫家，而父親則是名攝影師^[1]。納塔利擁有義大利和英國血統^[1]。1歲時，他與家人搬到了多倫多。在高中時期，納塔利認識了英國出生的加拿大演員大衛·惠利特，便此惠利特常在納塔利執導的大多數的電影中參演。納塔利在從懷雅遜大學的電影科系畢業後，他受動畫公司Nelvana（英语：Nelvana）所聘，成為該公司的故事板繪師（英语：Storyboard artist）^[2]。
