汪蓋瑞·馬塔伊（斯瓦希里語：Wangari Muta Maathai，1940年4月1日—2011年9月25日），肯尼亚的社会活动家，2004年诺贝尔和平奖得主，美國匹茲堡大學生物科學碩士。她是绿带运动和非洲减债运动联盟的发起人，曾担任肯尼亚国会议员。

生平

馬塔伊是东、西非的第一个女性博士学位获得者。1977年发起了一个以妇女和环境为主的绿带运动。1990年代，馬塔伊因为反对开发商强占共有土地，被肯尼亚当局监禁和鞭打。馬塔伊努力不懈，在2002年被选为国会议员。另曾任肯尼亚環境及自然資源部副部長。[1]

2011年馬塔伊因癌病在奈洛比去世，享年71歲。[1]
