Eirini của Hy Lạp và Đan Mạch (tiếng Hy Lạp: Ειρήνη της Ελλάδας και Δανίας; 13 tháng 2 năm 1904 – 15 tháng 4 năm 1974) là con thứ năm và con gái thứ hai của Konstantinnos I của Hy Lạp và Sophie của Phổ. Eirini là thành viên của Vương thất Hy Lạp và Ý. Từ năm 1941 đến năm 1943, Eirini cũng là Vương hậu Croatia.

Thân thế và những năm đầu đời

Eirini sinh ngày 13 tháng 2 năm 1904 tại Athens, là người con thứ năm và con gái thứ hai của Konstantinos I của Hy Lạp và Sophie của Phổ. Eirini có ba anh trai là Alexandros (1893) Georgios (1890), và Pavlos (1901), một chị gái là Eleni (1896) và một em gái là Aikaterini (1913).[1] Ông bà nội của Eirini là Georgios I của Hy Lạp và Olga Konstantinovna của Nga. Ông bà ngoại của Eirini là Friedrich III của Đức, và Victoria Adelaide của Liên hiệp Anh, con gái của Victoria I của Liên hiệp Anh và Albrecht xứ Sachsen-Coburg và Gotha.

Năm 1927, anh trai của Vương nữ là Georgios công bố hôn ước giữa Eirini và Christian xứ Schaumburg-Lippe, một người cháu gọi bác của Christian X của Đan Mạch,[a][2] nhưng cuộc hôn nhân không xảy ra.

Hôn nhân

Ngày 1 tháng 7 năm 1939, Eirini kết hôn với Aimone của Savoia, Công tước thứ 4 xứ Aosta [3] (9 tháng 3 năm 1900 – 29 tháng 1 năm 1948) và có một đứa con:

Vào tháng 3 năm 1942, Eirini, vốn là một y tá được đào tạo, đứng đầu chuyến tàu của bệnh viện Chữ thập đỏ tới Nga để hồi hương những người lính Ý bị thương. Sau một cuộc hành trình khó khăn, Eirini trở lại Firenze vào tháng sau.[4] Ngày 3 tháng 3 năm 1942, Aimone trở thành Công tước xứ Aosta sau cái chết của anh trai là Amedeo. Ngày 18 tháng 5 năm 1941, Aimone trở thành Quốc vương của Nhà nước Độc lập Croatia, một quốc gia bù nhìn của phát xít Đức và Ý với trị hiệu Tomislav II, Eirini do đó trở thành Vương hậu Croatia. Tuy nhiên, Aimone chưa bao giờ đặt chân lên Croatia và thoái vị vào năm 1943.[5]

Sau hiệp định đình chiến của quân Đồng minh với Vương quốc Ý, Eirini cùng con trai mới sinh, chị dâu và hai cháu gái bị quân Đức giam giữ tại khách sạn Ifen ở Hirschegg, Áo, vào tháng 7 năm 1944. Họ được người Pháp trả tự do vào tháng 5 năm 1945.[6]

Sau chiến tranh và cuộc trưng cầu dân ý năm 1946 dẫn đến sự chấm dứt nền quân chủ ở Ý, gia đình của Eirini phải sống lưu vong. Ngày 29 tháng 1 năm 1948, chồng của Eirini tại Buenos Aires. Sau khi Aimone qua đời, con trai Amedeo kế vị cha trở thành Công tước xứ Aosta thứ 5. Vào tháng 6 năm 1948, gia đình của Eirini được phép trở lại Ý và Eirini dành phần đời còn lại của mình để sống bên ngoài Firenze.[7]

Eirini qua đời vào ngày 15 tháng 4 năm 1974 tại Fiesole, Ý, sau một thời gian dài phải chống chọi với bệnh tật.[8]
