Portsmut - Buyuk Britaniyaning jan. qismidagi shahar, Xempshir grafligida. Aholisi 182,2 ming kishi (1990-yillar oxiri). Lamansh boʻgʻozidagi port. Kemasozlik va kema taʼmirlash, radioelektronika, tikuvchilik sanoati korxonalari bor. Koʻprik orqali Gosport shahri bilan bogʻlangan. Harbiy dengiz bazasi. Shaharga XII asrda asos solingan. 12— XVIII asrlarga oid meʼmoriy yodgorliklari saqlangan.[1]
