Mudarris

Mudarris – madrasa o‘qituvchisi. Mudarrislar o‘qitiladigan muayyan fandan dars bergan. Hozir O‘zbekistondagi madrasa va diniy universitetlarda faqat diniy ilmlardan emas, dunyoviy fanlardan dars beruvchilar ham mudarris deb ataladi[1].

Etimologiyasi

Mudarris so‘zi arab tilidan ,,مدرس”  – so‘zidan olingan bo‘lib, dars beruvchi degan ma’noni anglatadi. Arab tilida ,,mudarris” so‘zi dars o‘qituvchisi degan ma’noni bildiradi va dars beradigan o‘qituvchi va dars berishga vakolatli olimni ifodalaydi. Viloyatlardagi mahalliy maktablarda ta’lim-tarbiyani tamomlab, diplom olgandan so‘ng, mudarrislar madrasalarda din va ilmlardan dars berar edilar, agar ular ,,mudarris”, kasbi ,,mudarrislik” deb atalar edi[2]. Saljuqiylar davlati va Usmonlilar imperiyasidagi diniy olim[3], professor yoki fakultet a’zosini tavsiflovchi atama[4]. Mudarris so‘nggi asrlarda Xorazm va Qo‘qon xonligida oxund shaklida ham qo‘llangan.
