Kufa
Kufa, Al-Kufa – Iroqdagi shahar. Arablarning harbiy qarorgohi sifatida Frot daryosining oʻng sohilida vujudga kelgan (taxminan 636/638). 656—661-yillarda xalifalik poytaxti. Umaviylar davrida (661—750) xalifaning Iroqdagi noibi qarorgohi; yirik madaniy markaz. Arab yozuvining eng qadimgi turlaridan biri – kufiy xati shu yerda taraqqiy etgan. IX asr oxirida qarmatlarning talonchilik bosqinidan soʻng tanazzulga yuz tutgan.[1]
