Arqish (turkiycha) — 6 — XIV asrlarda turkiy xalqlarda uzoq yurtlarga 673savdo-sotiq ishlari bilan qatnovchi to-jirlar, ot-ulovlar, aravalar va ularni boshqaruvchi mutasaddi shaxslar guruhi, yaʼni karvon maʼnosini anglatuvchi istiloh. A. Kultegin bitiktoshida, Yusuf Xos Hojibning „Qutadgʻu bilik“, Mahmud Koshgʻariyning „Devonu lugʻotit turk“ asarida ishlatilgan, soʻnggi bor XIV asr obidasi Rabgʻuziyning „Qisasi Rabgʻuziy“ asarida qayd etilgan. Hozirgi oʻzbek adabiy tilidagi „Karvonboshi“ maʼnosi qadimda A. ulugʻi soʻz birikmasi yordamida ifodalangan.
