Aachen — Germaniyaning Shimoliy Reyn-Vestfaliya yerida joylashgan shahar. Maydoni — 160,83 km2. 245 141[1] nafar aholi istiqomat qiladi (2010-yil holatiga ko'ra). Bundan tashqari, Aechan koʻmir havzasining markazi ham hisoblanadi. Balneologik kurort shahri. Texnika universiteti ham bor. Rimliklarning shifo maskanlari atrofida joylashgan Akve Grani turar joyi sifatida I asrdan maʼlum. VIII-IX asrlarda Buyuk Karl qarorgohi boʻlgan. Oʻrta asrlarda Aachen imperiya shahri statusini olgan. Meʼmoriy yodgorliklardan Buyuk Karl „pfals“i (qarorgohi) qoldiqlari, gotika uslubidagi ratusha saqlangan[2].
