Чемпіонат СРСР із шахів 1956

23-й чемпіонат СРСР із шахів проходив від 10 січня до 15 лютого 1956 року в Ленінграді.

Вперше в історії чемпіонатів перше місце розділили три учасники: Юрій Авербах, Борис Спаський і Марк Тайманов. У додатковому матч-турнірі (лютий, Ленінград) переміг Марк Тайманов.
