Skandha

Budist yazında skandha (Sanskrit) veya khandha (Pāli, Türkçe karşılığı küme) benlik duygusuna temel teşkil eden ve bu duyguya bağımlılığa neden olan beş tür olgudan her birine verilen addır.[1]

Günümüz yazarları[2] tarafından beş küme, genelde "bir fiziksel ve dört zihinsel" küme olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Abhidhamma gibi geleneksel Budist yazında ise, bir fiziksel küme (form), üç zihinsel faktör (duyu, algı ve zihinsel oluşumlar) ve bilinç olarak sınıflandırılır. Beş skanda şunlardır:

  1. "form" veya "madde" (Skt., Pāli rūpa; Tib. gzugs):
    içsel ve dışsal madde. Dışsal olarak, rupa fiziksel dünyayı ifade eder. İçsel olarak, rupa maddesel bedeni ve fiziksel duyu organlarını kapsar.[3]
  2. "duyu" veya "duygu" (Skt., Pāli vedanā; Tib. tshor-ba):
    bir nesneyi[4] hoşa giden, hoşa gitmeyen veya nötr olarak duyumsama.
  3. "algı", "anlayış", "kavrayış", "idrak" veya "yargı" (Skt. samjñā, Pāli saññā, Tib. 'du-shes):
    bir nesnenin tanınıp tanınmadığını (örneğin bir çanın sesi veya bir ağacın şekli).
  4. "zihinsel oluşumlar", "dürtüler", "istenç" veya "düzensel faktörler" (Skt. samskāra, Pāli saṅkhāra, Tib. 'du-byed) :
    bir nesne tarafından tetiklenen her tür zihinsel alışkanlıklar, düşünce, fikir, yargı, önyargı, içtepi ve kararlar.
  5. "bilinç" veya "anlayış" (Skt. vijñāna, Pāli viññāṇa, Tib. rnam-par-shes-pa):
