Hematofobi

Hematofobi (Kan korkusu) kana karşı duyulan aşırı ve önlenemez korku durumudur. Diğer birçok fobiden ayrı olarak bu korkunun akut durumlarında, vazovagal senkop (bayılma)gibi bazı fizyolojik reaksiyonlar gözlenebilir.

Benzer reaksiyonlar travmatofobi (yaralanma korkusu) ve tripanofobi (iğne korkusu) gibi fobilerde de saptanmıştır. Bu üç fobi DSM-IV'e göre "kan-enjeksiyon-yaralanma fobisi" olarak kategorize edilmiştir.

Etyoloji

Hematofobi etiyolojisinde sıklıkla çocukluk veya ergenlik çağındaki direkt veya şahit olunan travma vardır. Ayrıca genetik bileşeni de bulunmaktadır.

Tedavi

Tedavisinde daha çok vazovagal senkopun önlenebilmesi üzerine davranışçı teknikler veya pacemaker gibi tıbbi cihazların kullanımı uygulanmaktadır.
