Cinsiyetler Savaşı'nın ikinci maçında Billie Jean King'in giydiği kıyafet.

Cinsiyetler Savaşı, teniste bir erkek ve bir kadın arasında oynanan çeşitli gösteri maçlarını veya bazı durumlarda iki erkek ve iki kadın arasında oynanan maç türüdür. İlk Cinsiyetler Savaşı mücadelesi Margaret Smith Court ve Bobby Riggs arasında gerçekleşmiştir.[1][2] Cinsiyet Savaşları terimi, 1973'te Houston Astrodome stadyumunda 55 yaşındaki Bobby Riggs ile 29 yaşındaki Billie Jean King arasında oynanan ve uluslararası bir televizyonda yayınlanan maçta ortaya çıkmıştır.[3] Billie King bu maçta üç set alarak kazanmıştır.[4][5] Bu maç, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nde tahmini elli milyon, dünya çapında doksan milyon kişi tarafından izlenmiştir.[6] King'in bu maçı kazanması, kadın tenisinin kamu tarafından kabul edilmesinin temel taşı olarak kabul edilir.
