Horizont udalostí je americký film natočený v roku 1997, jeho režisérom je Paul W. S. Anderson. Ide o dielo spadajúce medzi sci-fi, horor a triler.

Vesmírna loď Horizont udalostí, najmodernejšie kozmické plavidlo tej doby, sa v roku 2040 vydala na prieskumnú misiu. Za Neptúnom však záhadne zmizne. V roku 2047 však na Zemi zachytili jej signál, z ktorého je možné rozlúštiť len latinské slova "librate me" (zachráňte ma). Na záchrannú misiu je pod velením kapitána Millera poslaná loď Lewis and Clark, na ktorej palube sa nachádza aj Dr. William Weir, konštruktér Horizontu udalostí. Prvým prekvapením je skenovanie lode, ktorá sa zdá byť biologicky aktívna, napriek tomu, že na palube nikto neprežil. Po vstupe do lodi posádka objaví, že sa tu odohralo niečo strašného. Ďalšie hrozné udalosti na seba nenechávajú dlho čakať. Je jasné, že loď celých sedem rokov bola v oblasti, v ktorej vládne zlo. A to rovnaké zlo je teraz na lodi. Až neskôr členovia posádky zistia, že originálny odkaz znel "liberate tutemet ex inferis (zachráňte sa pred peklom). Väčšina posádky je zavraždená a zo šialenstva sa dr. Weir, snaží s loďou vrátiť späť do dimenzie zla. Za cenu vlastného života tomu zabráni kapitán, ktorý sa s Weirom a jednou polovicou lode vráti do pekla, zatiaľ čo členovia, ktorí prežili v druhej polovici lode, ostávajú v Slnečnej sústave a napokon sa dočkajú záchrany. Avšak vytratilo sa zlo nadobro??

Film Horizont udalostí sa natáčal v Londýnskom „Bondovskom“ štúdiu Pinewood, kde sa postavili veľké kulisy interiéru vesmírnej lode Event Horizon; ich stavba trvala štyri mesiace a tvorcovia brali pre konečnú podobu lode z vonku ako vzor Parížsky chrám Notre Dame. Samozrejme že časti boli v počítačovej naskenovanej schéme upravené, tak aby spadali do mierne bizarnejšej koncepcie filmu.
Počas titulkov hrá pieseň od Prodigy - Funky Shit.
